Eket 1.0 : Small town problems

Nsisong Effiong5 September 2015
Almost anywhere you need to go in this town Is a fifty naira bike away through a network of small roads with regular speed bumps and mean looking potholes.
From home to the supermarkets that do not open on Sundays - Fifty naira.
From home to the bad live band that plays at Villa Marina - Fifty naira.
From home to the usually overcrowded clubs that are heavy on secondhand smoke - Fifty naira.
From Home to heaven could be fifty naira too but I'm not in a hurry to find out

Can I just say that I love how you end your poems? I always look forward to them. Thank you for this lovely piece.

I'll try not to...but the fifty naira appeal is strong :)

I love the end too, as much as I am allowed to love my own poem. I also love that you are able to take something away from this poem. Thank you for being there

great ending! deceptively simple poem till the last lines catch you unawares.

The last lines caught me unawares too.

If I show you to the place of knowing then I would have done my part, no?
